Questions are part of a normal conversation in Spanish. Especially when you travel, or you meet someone, what is the first thing you do? Ask a question! In this lesson you will learn how to ask several types of questions.    

• If you are requesting information you must use an interrogative word such as
   
  

  	¿Cuándo?	When?
  	¿Qué ?	What?
  	¿Dónde?	Where?
  	¿Cómo?	How?
  	¿Quién? / ¿Quiénes?	Who?
  	¿Por qué?	Why?

  
  
• Most  questions are formed by the following pattern:
   Question word + verb+ subject

• A statement may also become a question by placing the subject after the verb:
  

  ¿Camina Jorge todas las mañanas? (Does Jorge walk every morning?	Sí, Jorge camina todas las mañanas.
  ¿Trabaja Penélope en la farmacia?	Sí, Penélope trabaja en la farmacia.

  
  


• By adding the words ¿no? or ¿verdad? to the end of a statement, it also becomes a question:
  

  Hay estudiantes en la clase, ¿verdad?	There are students in the class, aren't they? (true?)
  Mariana habla portugués, ¿no?	Mariana speaks Portuguese, doesn't she?

  
  
  En contexto:
  - Eduardo trabaja en el centro de la ciudad, ¿no?
  - Sí, él trabaja con su papá. Y tú, ¿dónde trabajas?
   - ¿Yo? Yo trabajo en la biblioteca.
  -Ah, sí. Yo te ví la semana pasada. ¿Quién trabaja contigo?
  -Mi hermano.
   -Ah, me acuerdo de tu hermano. Él es más joven que tú, ¿verdad?
  - Sí, él todavía está en la Universidad, pero trabaja por tiempo integral.
